An exciting and unique Icarian Intensive is coming to Vienna
Alfonso (@Alfonsodoesacro) and Alberto (@Alberto-Betsinlao), two of the most talented and experienced icarian teachers in Europe, have prepared an amazing weekend full of their best icarians tricks and ideas. Intermediate/Advanced material (please check the prerequisites) awaits you. Bring your icarian practice to the next level and get inspired by these two Icarian magicians.
Program/content
Quick review of the basics: cleaning up your tempos/straight throws and discovering new variations will allow you to get your maximum height and accuracy. Challenging Icarians will become much easier afterwards.
Linking icarians: one of the most exciting practices while training icarian that requires precision and focus. Learn how to link the icarians you know, not only the easy ones
Big Throws: as a base you will use your whole body to throw and catch icarians where the flyer will learn to rotate in all directions. Fun and adrenaline is guaranteed here. Expect tricks at the level of “Cast Away”, “Martini“. Other variations like "Whale front tuck” will be one of our training.
Icarian Foot Juggling: one of the most challenging practices, especially for bases, where you mostly use the power and ability of your legs. We'll do different drills that will help you to have more stability and confidence.
Cartwheel pops: dynamic tricks to cartwheel into throne with half/full turn and variations
Spotting skills: knowing how to spot all the tricks properly will give you a better understanding of the technique and it will make the practice completely safe for everyone involved.
Physical conditioning and recovery drills for Icarian.
You will enjoy this full program wrapped in a safe and fun environment where the teachers will bring their technical, challenging and helpful approach to this fascinating discipline.
They certainly know how to further spice things up if needed ;)
Prerequisites
In order to get the best from this experience we expect from you to have some experience doing icarians and to feel comfortable doing (can be with a spotter for safety):
− Straight throws on front plank.
− Straight throws on throne (American Chair)
− Icarian from throne (American Chair) to front plank.
− Icarian from Reverse star to Throne (Handspring).
Before the intensive we encourage you to work on these prerequisites to get them fluent and clean.

Two of the most recognised acro teachers in Europe. The perfect balance between technique and humor. Together they accumulate tons of experience in circus and acrobatics, in Icarian Games and Standing Acro. Alfonso is a Spanish base and Alberto a Mexican flyer (don't worry if you get messy with the names). In their teaching they create an amazing combination of technical language and physical sensations that allow them to reach and help all kinds of students. You can find them teaching and performing around Europe in numerous workshops and festivals like the Dynamic Acro Program or the Icarian Convention. Let yourself be encouraged by their fire energy and enthusiasm to face your limits in a safe and fun environment.
